The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) administers and maintains over 1,720 hectares (4,250 acres) of parkland along the Niagara River Corridor. These parklands include gardens and picnic areas, historic sites, golf courses, restaurants, gift shops, attractions, a horticulture school and kilometers of recreational trails and scenic drives. Eight areas under the jurisdiction of NPC have been designated for wedding ceremonies:
Outdoor Locations
- The Wedding Arbour or Willow Pond at the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens (parking has been designated for your wedding party in the parking lot behind the Butterfly Conservatory). Please note: the Wedding Arbour should not be confused with the James N. Allen Pergola.
- Oakes Garden Theatre at the foot of Clifton Hill in the pavilions and under the curved canopy of Hill, across from the Maid of the Mist Plaza. Please note: there is no reserved parking at this location.
- Mather Arch (near the Peace Bridge) in the Town of Fort Erie
- The Laura Secord Monument in Queenston Heights Park at the brink of the Niagara Escarpment
- The Floral Showhouse Gardens located just south of the Horseshoe Falls.

- Queenston Wedding Chapel in Queenston, Ontario
- The Tropical Garden in the foyer of the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse
BOOKING PROCEDURE
A wedding location will be booked for you upon receipt of the payment, which is non-refundable, according to the schedule below:

A three hour time period will be set aside for your use of the Botanical Gardens Wedding Site, all other Wedding Sites will have a two hour time period.
REGULATIONS REGARDING WEDDINGS AND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY ON NIAGARA PARKS COMMISSION LANDS
- All Buses or Commercial Vehicles are required to obtain a permit while traveling throughout NPC property. Daily or Annual permits are available at bus management locations (e.g. Table Rock, Maid of the Mist, Rapidsview Parking Lot, Whirlpool Aero Car, Butterfly Conservatory or the Floral Clock) or on-line at https://licence.niagaraparks.com
- The Niagara Parks Commission is providing the location only ~ other arrangements are your responsibility including a back-up location in case of rain.
- The set up of tents, structures, etc., is permitted at designated areas in the Botanical Gardens. Permission must be granted by NPC. For further information please call the number listed below.
- If seating is desired, you are to make your own arrangements. Chairs are to be delivered, set up and removed during your two or three hour interval.
- No loud speakers are permitted. If music is required it should be played on battery-operated equipment.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Section 31, sub-section 2, of the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario reads: “No person shall consume liquor (alcohol) in any place other than a residence, or a premises in respect of which a licence or permit is issued.”
- It is the responsibility of your group to ensure the grounds are left clean for others.
- The use of confetti, rice, bird seed or other materials in not permitted.
- The Niagara Parks Commission’s General Release from Liability form must be signed before permission is granted to hold a wedding on NPC property.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to be married in Canada, a wedding licence must be obtained. There is an age requirement (18 years or older) and all applicants must be able to provide identification. RELIGIOUS CEREMONY
The Niagara Region Telephone Directory has a list of the local churches in the area. Please telephone the minister at the church (denomination) of your choice directly to confirm costs and details of your wedding ceremony.
CATERING
The Niagara Parks Commission owns and operates five restaurants on NPC property. We would be pleased to assist you with the catering needs for your reception after the ceremony.
WEDDING PHOTO INFORMATION
Wedding photos can be taken at any of our outdoor locations throughout the Park with no fee or permit required. Indoor wedding photography can be booked for the new Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse Tropical Foyer , 1 hour time period and a rental fee of $100 plus GST. Please respect our beautiful grounds and the rights of others.
